Why Frequency-Based Typing Practice Works
Most typing courses teach the alphabet roughly in keyboard order. keyspraut takes a different approach: it teaches the keyboard in order of how often you actually use each letter. Here is why that matters.
Real text is wildly uneven
E, T, A, O and N do enormous work in English; J, Q, X and Z barely show up. Spending equal practice time on each key is spending most of your effort on keys you rarely press.
Unlock by frequency
keyspraut starts you on the most common letters and unlocks new ones as you hit speed and accuracy targets. By the time you reach the rare keys, the common ones — the ones doing 90% of the work — are already automatic.
Drill real combos, not filler
Instead of nonsense drills, keyspraut samples real words and n-grams from a text corpus. You practice TH, ING and the top 100 words because that is what your hands will meet for the rest of your life.
