1-minute typing test

The classic 60-second sprint. One minute is long enough to get a stable words-per-minute reading but short enough to push flat-out the whole way. Most people use the 1-minute test as their benchmark — take it a few times and watch the number climb.

How the test works

The timer starts the moment you press your first key. Type the passage as it appears — the test measures correct keystrokes, so accuracy counts. By default it's lowercase with a period at the end of each sentence; use the toggles to add capitals, punctuation, or numbers. When the clock runs out you'll get your WPM, accuracy, and error count.
